| Practice Principles |
|
Shortly after staring the practice in 1991, we committed our guiding principles to paper. They define our work ethic, client relationships, operational policies and practice development activities.
Mission Statement
I strive to honour God by using the gifts He bestows upon me to serve others.
Therefore, I offer financial and strategic planning services (and related accounting, taxation, computer and administrative services) to individuals and families, owner-managed businesses and non-profit organizations.
Statement of Values
1. Be honest, show integrity, respect, and compassion, and work in my clients best interests.
2. Acquire and maintain a body of professional knowledge and apply that knowledge with common sense.
3. Make effective use of appropriate technologies to reduce the burden to technical calculations, communications and administration.
4. Build professional associations with like-minded individuals for mutual referrals, specialized expert knowledge and enhanced client service.
5. Adhere to a standard fee schedule that promotes growth, yet ensures fair consideration for services.
Practice Development Focus
While I feel called to do the work I do, it is also my livelihood. Like all entrepreneurs, I want my practice to grow by continually providing more services to more clients. To ensure the desire for growth does not overwhelm our values, practice development activities will focus on the following:
1. COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES - I will offer general professional services in order to meet all my clients' planning, accounting, taxation, computer and administrative needs. Clients are assured that most of their financial needs (business and individual) can be met from this single source. Where I am unable to meet the clients' needs, I will help to find appropriate expert assistance.
2. BROAD CLIENT BASE - In keeping with the nature and needs of a general practice, I will diversify the number and types of clients served. I will actively seek clients who would not normally use the services of a Chartered Accountant. Clients will include only individuals and families, businesses whose owner is active in its operations, and community-based non-profit organizations.
3. STANDARD FEE SCHEDULE - To attract and maintain a non-traditional CA client base, I will charge fees well below those of other local Chartered Accountants. I will publish a standard fee schedule and offer flexible billing/payment arrangements that will be available and applied to all clients equitably.
4. UNIQUE SERVICES & TOOLS - I must create and maintain a competitive advantage in helping my clients work toward the future. To this end, I will create custom tools that enable me to offer objective and effective planning and other services as affordable flat-fee packages, not available elsewhere.
